Safety Challenge: Make the Right Call in Real-World Scenarios puts learners in the role of an authorized employee responsible for safely controlling hazardous energy before maintenance and servicing activities begin. Through an immersive choose-your-own-adventure experience, players navigate realistic workplace scenarios where every decision affects the outcome.
Learners progress through three increasingly complex situations involving equipment maintenance, production systems, and energy isolation challenges. Along the way, they must communicate with affected personnel, identify energy sources, apply lockout/tagout procedures, control stored energy, and verify isolation before work can proceed. Incorrect decisions result in immediate feedback and require players to restart the scenario, reinforcing proper procedures and decision-making.
After successfully completing all scenarios, learners finish with a hands-on challenge that tests their understanding of the correct sequence for returning equipment to service. This interactive experience strengthens critical thinking, reinforces lockout/tagout fundamentals, and helps learners apply safe energy-control practices in realistic workplace situations.
